Understanding User Roles

kolum provides different user roles to ensure proper access control and separation of duties across your organization. Each role is designed with specific responsibilities and access levels to support your work with your EU customers and emissions data management.

Understanding these roles will help you effectively organize your team for clear, efficient collaboration with your EU customers on emissions transparency.

Tenant User

Tenant Users have full access to manage your entire supplier organization within kolum, including all companies, users, and emissions data shared with your EU customers.

Key Permissions:

  • Create and manage your companies within your tenant.

  • Invite users and assign all role types.

  • Access all emissions data and reporting data relevant to your EU customers.

  • Configure system settings and integrations for your organization.

Tenant Audit User

Tenant Audit Users have view-only access across your supplier organization within kolum. This role is typically used when you provide access to an internal or external auditor, allowing them to review your emissions data and linked company and facility records without making any changes.

Company User

Company Users are standard users who manage emissions and product data day-to-day to support your EU customers.

Key Permissions:

  • Manage company facilities and production facility data.

  • Create and manage articles and product records linked to your EU customers.

  • Record emissions data for your produced articles and track supplier emissions if you work with your own suppliers.

  • View and analyze carbon data relevant to your production and your EU customers.

Company Users cannot invite new users or create new companies within kolum.

Company Audit User

Company Audit Users have view-only access limited to a specific company you select within your organization. This role is useful if you need to provide an auditor with access to review emissions data and linked records for a single company without granting edit permissions.

Customs User

Customs Users focus specifically reporting requirements for customs declarations.

Procurement User

Procurement Users manage your supplier relationships and emissions data linked to purchased goods, especially if you work with your own upstream suppliers and need to track their emissions for accurate reporting to your EU customers.

Key Permissions:

  • Manage supplier information and relationships within your organization.

  • Track emissions data from your suppliers.

  • Review and analyze emissions data related to your purchased goods.

This role is ideal for teams managing upstream supplier emissions to support accurate data sharing with EU customers.
