Connect Suppliers to an Article

Linking suppliers to articles in kolum ensures your purchased goods are correctly tracked to their origin and production facilities, allowing accurate emissions data collection and seamless supplier collaboration. When you connect a supplier to an article, the supplier will see the article in their kolum interface and can provide emissions data if needed.

How to Connect Suppliers to an Article

1. Go to Articles from the sidebar.

2. Click on the article name you wish to connect to suppliers. This will open the article’s details page.

3. Click Edit in the top-right corner to enter edit mode.

4. Scroll to the Parties and Details Involved in Customs section.

5. Click Add Supplier to link a supplier to this article.

6. For each supplier you add:

   • Select Supplier: Choose the supplier from your existing supplier list.

   • Country of Origin (mandatory): Enter the country where the article originates.

   • Production Facility (optional): If the supplier has added facilities, select the relevant facility.

   • Production Method (optional): Specify the method used to produce the article if tracked.

   • Direct and Indirect Emissions (optional): Add these values if they are known; otherwise, the supplier can provide them later.

7. You can add multiple suppliers to a single article if you source the article from different suppliers.

8. If you need to remove a supplier, click the delete button next to the supplier entry before saving.

9. Once all details are reviewed, click Save Article to apply the updates.

Important to Note

• Country of Origin is mandatory for each supplier connection.

• Suppliers linked to an article will see the article in their kolum interface and can submit emissions data directly.

• You can connect suppliers to articles during initial article creation or later by editing the article.

• Ensure the supplier is already added in your kolum supplier list before linking; if not, add the supplier first.

• If you need to update production facility or emissions details later, you can edit the supplier connection by returning to the article’s edit page.

After Connecting Suppliers

• The article will remain visible in your Articles list with updated supplier connections.

• Suppliers will be notified of the connection and can start providing emissions data where required.

• Emissions and origin data provided by suppliers will automatically align with your workflows for imports, emissions tracking, and reporting within kolum.
