Assign or Update User Roles
Assigning the right role to each user helps your team work efficiently in kolum while keeping your workspace organized and secure. Roles determine what users can see and manage, ensuring everyone has the appropriate level of access for their responsibilities while working with your EU buyers and managing emissions data.
Only Tenant Users can assign or update user roles in kolum.
How to Assign a Role When Adding a New User
To assign a role while inviting a new user:
Go to: My Organization → Users → + Add New (top right).
Enter user details: Fill in first name, last name, email, and optional job title or phone number.
Select a role: Use the Role dropdown to choose the appropriate role for the user.
Create user: Click “Create User.” The user will receive an email invitation and will have the permissions tied to their role when they log in.
How to Update a User’s Role
To update the role of an existing user:
Go to: My Organization → Users.
Find the user: Locate the user in the list and click the edit icon (pencil) in the Actions column.
Change the role: In the Edit User panel, select the new role from the dropdown.
Save changes: Click “Save.” The user’s permissions will update immediately to reflect their new role.
Note: Updating a user’s role changes their access in kolum immediately. Assign roles carefully to ensure each user has what they need to perform their work in supporting emissions data management and collaboration with your EU buyers.
